DAY 1: Driving the Great Ocean Road

Fill up your tank and set out along the Great Ocean Road to experience this iconic road trip – take in the sites, stop often to take in the majestic vistas, spend some time getting to know Warrnambool – awarded Victoria’s Top Tourism Town for 2025, and enjoy one of the world’s most beautiful coastal drives…

Apollo Bay and the 12 Apostles Coast

“Walk with Wildlife” Tour at Wildlife Wonders, Apollo Bay + lunch at the Emu Cafe – meet the local wildlife native to the Great Otway National Park, including wallabies, kangaroos, koalas, potoroos and lots of native birds – plus a resident family of friendly emus!

Scenic Helicopter Flight over the 12 Apostles for four people with 12 Apostles Helicopters. Epic memories are guaranteed – see the rock from a better angle!

Take your time and explore the 12 Apostles lookouts and nearby trails (don’t miss the new blowhole lookout at Loch Ard Gorge)

Arrive in Warrnambool

Check into your accommodation in Warrnambool – awarded Victoria’s top tourism town for 2025. You’ll be staying for the next 2 nights at the self-contained Lighthouse Lodge, the original Warrnambool lighthouse-keeper’s residence. Stay in comfort, walking distance to Lake Pertobe (which has a ‘next level’ playground!), the beach and the town centre.

Dinner at The Cally is the perfect way to finish day 1 of your adventure: with a great wine list, and exceptional pub style meals, there’s even a dedicated kids games area (with some nostalgic games for parents too!)

DAY 2: Exploring Warrnambool

Start the Day at the Breakwater

Breakfast at The Pavilion Cafe and Bar, which is located overlooking the Warrnambool Breakwater. Don’t forget to pick a table with a view: each morning local racehorse trainers bring their horses to the beach here to swim in the cold sea water as part of their training regime. Also the best breakfast in town!

With full tums, head to Deep Blue Hot Springs and enjoy a two hour sanctuary bathing session for 4. If you hadn’t wound down into holiday mode by now, this will help everyone relax and reset.

Afternoon Adventures

Spend a few hours exploring Flagstaff Hill Maritime Village. Wander through the cobblestone streets, watch the blacksmith at work, relax with a devonshire tea and do not forget to visit the lolly shop!

Grab an early dinner at the Dart and Marlin, Warrnambool’s ultra-hip bar X restaurant X beer garden X pizzeria. Divine traditional stone baked pizzas will definitely please the crowd

Back at Flagstaff Hill, take in some local history at the Sound and Light Show – three historic stories are presented in a fully immersive outdoor theatre experience. After your big day and night, it’s just a 2-minute stroll back to your accommodation

DAY 3: Your Trip Comes To An End

Before You Leave Warrnambool

Drop into the Visitor Information Centre (it’s also next door to your accommodation), for ideas on how to spend your last day, plus maps and souvenirs. You might like to visit Logans Beach to see if you can spot a whale (seasonal), check out the Warrnambool Street Art, the Warrnambool Art Gallery or stop in at the Fletcher Jones Market to browse vintage clothing and collectibles.
