Stargazing
Whether you're a first-time stargazer, an amateur astronomer, or a seasoned cosmologist, the Southern Hemisphere skies offer a fantastic opportunity for exploration.
At the Port Campbell Visitor Information Centre, we offer free rentals of the following equipment:
- 8-inch Newtonian Reflector Telescope: A great choice for first-time users, allowing you to easily view lunar craters. With a bit of persistence, you might also catch sight of Saturn, Jupiter, and its moons, depending on the time of year.
- Celestron Starsense Explorer DX5: This smartphone-connected telescope offers a guided tour of the night sky, making stargazing even more accessible.
- Celestron Skymaster 15×70 Binoculars: Ideal for on-the-go viewing, these high-performance binoculars are perfect for both astronomical observations and long-distance terrestrial viewing.
