Let me help you plan your Great Ocean Road trip

I am here to help you explore the Great Ocean Road region, but I’m still learning and can make mistakes. For the best local advice, visit a visitor information centre. This is a large region, so plan for travel distances and your length of stay.

Hello

Hi! Let me help you plan your Great Ocean Road trip

5 Paddock-To-Plate Experiences

Our region offers an array of experiences that celebrate the paddock-to-plate philosophy. Here are our favourite five who showcase the freshest local ingredients grown right here in the Great Ocean Road Region.

Birregurra

1. Brae

Set amid native gardens and productive farmland, Brae invites guests to settle into a welcoming dining room where every dish embodies the essence of the surrounding locale. With up to 90% of ingredients sourced from Brae’s own land, including vegetables, olives, honey, and native Australian plants, they are committed to showcasing the richness of their surroundings in every bite.

Each day, the finest organic produce from the farm and nearby growers is carefully selected and with care and respect, these ingredients are transformed into a tasting menu that celebrates the season. Their cuisine tells stories of place and people, with minimal intervention and a focus on terroir, reflecting their dedication to sustainability and culinary excellence.

Lavers Hill

2. The Perch

Nestled in the heart of Lavers Hill, The Perch invites diners to indulge in a paddock-to-plate dining experience that heroes collaboration with local fishers, farmers, and growers, and their own farm resulting in an expertly crafted seasonal menu.

The Perch lies on six and a half acres of land in Lavers Hill and is home to luscious greenery, rainforests, grapevines, a veggie garden and 28 sheep. Forever inspired by the surroundings of the otways, The Perch sources 90% of its produce locally with the aim for that number to be 100% in the future.

Anglesea

3. The Coast

Located in Anglesea at Great Ocean Road Resort, The Coast Restaurant serves modern Australian dishes crafted from the region’s freshest produce. Ingredients like Zeally Bay sourdough, Bells Beach lamb, and seasonal seafood feature across a menu designed to highlight local flavours.

For more intimate occasions, The Coast offers a private dining room for up to 22 guests, ideal for birthdays, small corporate dinners, or micro-weddings. Guests can also stay at the on-site boutique accommodation at Great Ocean Road Resort for a complete getaway.

Apollo Bay

4. Graze Apollo Bay

Right in the heart of Apollo Bay, Graze Apollo Bay opened its doors in April 2021, bringing a fresh, contemporary vibe to the town’s dining scene. The relaxed atmosphere makes it the perfect spot to unwind after a day exploring the coast.

Graze has quickly become a favourite for both locals and visitors, thanks to its ever-changing modern Australian menu that celebrates seasonal, local produce. The fully licensed bar highlights regional wines, beers, liqueurs, and spirits, offering something special to complement every meal.

Warrnambool

5. Pavilion Cafe & Bar

The Pavilion Café and Bar epitomises Australian beach life, all while perched to overlook Lady Bay. It offers guests a perfect setting to soak in the sunshine and sea breeze from its expansive deck or cosy up inside during cooler months.

Striving to support and showcase the region’s produce, the menu champions paddock to plate ethos, showcasing seasonal dishes sourced directly from the surrounding land and sea.
