Keerray Woorroong Visitor Centre
Your guide to the new visitor experience
A new world-class Visitor Centre is bringing a whole new level to the Twelve Apostles experience.
With the new experience now open, a new way to visit is also in place. From 16 October 2026, all visitors need to reserve their spot in advance, so be sure to book ahead before your visit.
Explore the new centre
Visitors can discover new interpretive experiences, local dining and a rooftop observation deck with sweeping views across the Southern Ocean.
Designed in consultation with Eastern Maar to help visitors understand this iconic coast through the perspectives of one of the world’s oldest living cultures.
Interactive displays, artifacts and guided tours reveal the stories behind the famous view: millions of years of climate history, maritime shipwreck stories and ecological wonder.
Plan your visit
Every visitor needs a booking to visit the Twelve Apostles from 16 October onwards. It’s free to book for now but a fee will be introduced later, with plenty of notice provided. Booking enables guaranteed entry, parking and a smoother visit.
Visitors who arrive without a booking will be able to make a booking upon arrival at the entrance gate, but may not be able to enter straight away if parking is at capacity. Booking in advance is strongly recommended. Once introduced, revenue from the booking fee will go directly into coastal protection, conservation and improvements to the visitor experience along the entire coast and parks of the Great Ocean Road.
Frequently Asked Questions
When will bookings be required?
The new booking requirements will be introduced when the new Visitor Centre opens on 16th October, 2026. Bookings will be available from the 5th of October.
Why is booking now required?
The Twelve Apostles is one of Australia’s most visited natural attractions, welcoming more than 2 million people a year. Booking ahead protects the quality of the experience and helps care for the place that makes it possible.
The new system will ensure safer access to walkways, viewing platforms, and on the roads, while guaranteeing parking and managing overcrowding, especially at peak periods. All revenue raised is reinvested into the care, conservation and long-term resilience of the Great Ocean Road coast and parks.
What happens if I arrive early or late for my designated booking time?
We know road conditions on the Great Ocean Road can be unpredictable. While the booking system relies on timed arrivals to manage crowding, flexible grace periods are factored in – arriving either 1 hour early or after a booked time. Outside of these times, a new booking will be required.
Accessibility and inclusion
Creating an experience accessible to all is a core objective of the precinct. While some tracks and natural areas will not be suitable for every visitor, the Visitor Centre and its supporting experiences are designed to widen access.
The planned and confirmed inclusions are:
- Changing Places facilities, accessible toilets, a parent room and a sensory/quiet space.
- An accessible golf-cart style shuttle, carrying up to 12 people available on request to run visitors between the Visitor Centre and the current kiosk.
- Accessible interpretive design features and experiences.
- Wayfinding, digital visitor map and signage principles that assist visitors whose first language is not English.
- Pre- booking of DDA compliant parking spaces.
- An Accessibility Action Plan and a Sensory or Access Story published on the website.
A dedicated Sensory Room is provided within the Visitor Centre as a quiet, low-stimulation space for visitors requiring a calm environment. The room may also be used by individuals seeking a private space for reflection, meditation or prayer.
