Wool Workshop: Introduction to Natural Dyeing

Dip into the intriguing world of naturally dyeing wool yarn where the plants around you bring colour and design to your crafts.

This introductory class is a hands-on overview of mordanting and colour modifying and exploration of three plants: Cherry Ballart (Exocarpos cupressiformis), Argyle Apple (Eucalyptus cinerea) and Indigo.
In a small group of up to right, participants will dye 100 grams of Tarndwarncoort’s four ply Polwarth yarn in four colours, enough to create the Tarndie Beanie with knitting pattern included.

Tutors are Tom Dennis (the apprentice) and Heather Locock (the experience) who enjoy discovering beautifully harminous colours for Polwarth wool.
