Held in conjunction with the Victorian Athletic League (VAL), the Warrnambool Gift attracts 300 to 400 athletes from across Australia. Using the VAL handicap system, every competitor has a genuine chance of success, creating thrilling races and close finishes that keep spectators on the edge of their seats.
The program features events from 70 to 1600 metres, with competitors ranging from Under 14s through to veteran athletes. The day’s highlight races are the prestigious Warrnambool Men’s Gift 120 metres and Warrnambool Women’s Gift 120 metres, where athletes compete for local sporting glory.
Spectators can expect a family-friendly atmosphere, elite athletic performances, local talent, and exciting racing throughout the day. Local participation continues to grow, with more than 40 Warrnambool athletes now competing, giving the community plenty of hometown heroes to support.
