You will make paper from recycled artist paper (cotton and archival). This workshop introduces participants to the basic principles of making paper, using tools that can be found in the home or easily obtained or made. You will make paper from recycled artist paper (cotton and archival). Various techniques and processes will be discussed and demonstrated, everyone will make multiple sheets of paper and take part each part of the process.
The paper made at the workshop will be able to be used for a variety of things, printmaking, stamping, writing, book making etc.
All materials supplied. Bring an apron and wear closed in shoes.
Vicki has been a papermaker for more than 20 years, she has had several residencies at Museo Della Carta, Fabriano, Italy’s iconic working paper museum, and participated in the International papermaking workshop at Awagami in Tokushima, Japan.
She has taught papermaking, printmaking, book binding, drawing and photography, most recently at Adelaide College of the Arts- Flinders University. She is a member of the Portland Bay Press, her own studio is known as Vicarious Press.
