Let me help you plan your Great Ocean Road trip
I am here to help you explore the Great Ocean Road region, but I’m still learning and can make mistakes. For the best local advice, visit a visitor information centre. This is a large region, so plan for travel distances and your length of stay.
Hello
TwoFatEwes are a collaboration of two sisters who have an extensive background in textile arts. Their work reflects an upbringing surrounded by the sounds of weaving shuttles flying across the loom, a wood lathe in the bluestone studio out the back of the family built log cabin, botanical dyes bubbling away on the stove top & the encouragement to learn new skills, challenging & moulding the creative spirit within.
The progression from learning, doing, finding their own groove in all things textile & fibre to establishing TwoFatEwes developed over many years. Jo’s eye for design, colour and precision was honed by working in soft furnishings, Jessens Fabric shop in Warrnambool & photography, not to mention being an artist with works in pen & ink, colourful acrylic paintings & of course logo designs. Wendys creative spirit launched ahead with music playing a huge part for many years until a bit of an accident resulted in spinal injury & an alternative outlet for this creative spirit rediscovered. The spinning wheel, that had been carted around the country for 45 years, was dusted off & began to earn its keep. Cooramook Textiles & the Bozar Bird were born as separate entities and then retired as the natural progression to TwoFatEwes sees the sisters collaborating with workshops and a stronger online presence combined with monthly events where customers can appreciate texture, colours & hours of work.
