The Dennis family have been growing wool at Tarndie (short for Tarndwarncoort) since 1840. Tarndie is the birthplace of the first Australian breed of sheep – Polwarth.
Polwarth wool is soft, long and perfect for woolcraft. The Woolshop at Tarndie stocks fleece, tops and yarn all grown in the surround paddocks.
Accommodation in two properties allows visitors to gain a fuller experience of life on a sheep farm. The Farmer’s Cottage has two bedrooms for up to four guests. The Stables Studio is perfect for one or two guests.
