Lemongum is a beautifully curated cottage situated on Banongill Station, at Skipton in Western Victoria. The cottage has been restored to create a country escape, a place to relax and unwind in the beautiful surrounds of the historic Banongill garden.
Lemongum is perched above the Mt Emu Creek on the edge of the informal wild garden, with drifts of daffodils and spectacular blossom trees.
Sit by the fire pit, listen to the kookaburras, take a deep breath and keep an eye out for the platypus.
Lemongum is a place to switch off and relax while enjoying the views to the magnificent red gums along Mt Emu Creek and the gardens of Banongill Station.
The cottage is nestled above the creek on the edge of the wild garden, the informal section of the renowned and historically significant Guilfoyle designed garden surrounding the spectacular Banongill Homestead.
The wild garden is known for the rugged banks of the creek, the spring blossoms and the drifts of daffodils. Banongill Station was once a bustling sheep station employing up to sixty people and it remains a working sheep and cropping farm. The historic buildings still surround the garden and are being restored to their former glory.
Lemongum has been thoughtfully styled to complement the beautiful surroundings with colours and artworks chosen to reflect the creek and garden.
