The Cobden and District Historical Society is dedicated to collecting, preserving, and sharing the rich history of the local area.
Their collection spans a wide range of subjects, including schools, timber cuttting and milling, the dairy and sheep industries, war memorabilia, and the histories of local clubs, families, and businesses. In short, they are committed to preserving the past and the present for the future.
Established in 1985 at the request of local residents, the Society operated from several temporary locations before finding its permanent home at The Chocolyn Hall in Grayland Street, Cobden.
They also assist with family history research for those with connections to the Cobden district. If you’re interested in learning more or seeking help with your own family history, please contact them via email.
