Lake Bullen Merri, located near the charming town of Camperdown, is a beautiful volcanic lake offering serene views and an abundance of fishing opportunities. Its crystal-clear waters are home to a variety of fish species, making it a popular spot for anglers.
Lake Bullen Merri’s clover-like shape is a legacy of its volcanic past, formed from the remains of three adjoining craters. Dark volcanic sands frame the beautiful waterway, providing a wonderful venue for picnicking, walking, boating, fishing, water skiing, and swimming.
Accessible parking is available at South Beach, and visitors can enjoy fully accessible toilets at South Beach Reserve. The area also includes an accessible fishing platform for those wishing to cast a line from a comfortable position. Note that the hill down towards the lake is a sloping.
Dogs on leashes are permitted at South Beach at Lake Bullen Merri.
Fishing and Boating
Visitors can fish from the black volcanic sandy banks, jetty, or by boat. The lake is home to rainbow and brown trout, chinook and Atlantic salmon, and Australian bass. There is good access for watercraft, as well as bank and jetty fishing.
