Lavers Hill

Situated on the inland section of the Great Ocean Road, Lavers Hill is nestled in lush rolling hills embraced by the Great Otway National Park. Melba Gully is located just south of the town centre and boasts ancient rainforests during the day and glow worm viewing on trails at night – don’t forget your torch.

The town caters for visitors with a number of cafes, a pub with a bistro, and visitor information.

Lavers Hill is a central point to access some of the Otways beaches, rainforests and waterfalls.

Lavers Hill is situated on the Great Ocean Road between Port Campbell and Apollo Bay, on the inland section of the road, north-west of Cape Otway, and at the junction of the roads to Cobden and Colac.

The town centre caters well for tourists, featuring a number of cafes, a pub with a bistro, and tourist information.  The landmark wood sculpture at the junction of the Great Ocean Road and Colac Road is the “Drift”, which is a tribute to the marine environment, prehistoric skeletal finds, shipwrecks and the agricultural machinery of the area, designed by artist James Catell.

Lavers Hill is an area noted for scenic beauty with the Great Otway National Park surrounding much of the town.

Melba Gully

The Melba Gully section, located just south of the town centre boasts ancient rainforests during the day and glow worm viewing on trails at night.  Perhaps the most unusual inhabitants of the area are the glow worms, which can be seen at night along the walking tracks.

The 35 minute Madsen’s Track Nature Walk departs from the picnic area, providing an adventure into a world of ancient, mossy trees and cool fern gullies.

Lavers Hill is a central point to access some of the Otways beaches, rainforests and waterfalls.

Johanna Beach – 12km south east.

Glenaire / Castle Cove – 15km south east.

Melba Gully – 4km west.

Triplet Falls & Little Aire Falls – 16km north east.

Otway Fly Treetop Adventures – 15km north east, a spectacular 600 metre long, 25 metre high elevated treetop walk.
