About

Join one of our expert guides on our Port Fairy Battery Hill Tour for a leisurely stroll through the Historic precinct worthy of exploration. The five mysteries about Battery Hill will be revealed during the tour. This tour will explore the rich history of Battery Hill, uncovering fascinating and often little-known stories about the characters and events that shaped Port Fairy’s very early development.

The guided walk includes an exclusive tour through the original Lifeboat House (1862) and Rocket House (1886), where an exceptional collection of maritime rescue equipment from the 19th and early 20th centuries is on display. The collection includes a restored sea-going lifeboat, which was built at the Williamstown marine yard in 1857.
