Finally built in 1891 after a number of shipwrecks, the history of the Split Point Lighthouse highlights the isolation faced by pioneers living along the coastline in the early 1900’s before the road. 

Today, 34 metres tall and 66 metres above sea level, it’s light guides vessels as they navigate the Bass Strait. 

And yes, this is the lighthouse that featured in the 90s TV show 'Round the Twist'!
