What are the Best Weekend Getaways?

  • Aireys Inlet is a great place to enjoy both the coastline and the Great Otway National Park. It’s only 124 kilometres from Melbourne’s CBD and has a range of accommodation and eating options as well as great parks and picnic areas.
  • Lorne is another spot with access to big nature as well as the creature comforts. It’s 139 kilometres from Melbourne’s CBD on the spectacular coastal road. Lorne is popular with families thanks to a range of activities for toddlers through to teenagers as well as spa treatments, fine dining and fishing activities for mums and dads.
  • Kennett River is a tiny hamlet and a haven for couples who enjoy the serenity, birdlife and native animals. It’s 165 kilometres from Melbourne’s CBD – halfway between Lorne and Apollo Bay. It’s the perfect place to relax and unwind.
