Many Victorians visit the Great Ocean Road as a day trip from Melbourne. It’s just over 100 kilometres from Melbourne’s CBD and will take a little over an hour and fifteen minutes to get to by car. You can easily spend a day exploring coastal townships close to Melbourne like Torquay and Anglesea.
The trip from Torquay (the start of the road, closest to Melbourne) to Warrnambool, closer to the South Australian border, takes about four hours and fifteen minutes by car.
But that is just the time it takes to get from one part of the Great Ocean Road to another. There are dozens of destinations along the way to stop in at – with oodles of things to see and do. Make sure you allow time to enjoy all the region has to offer.
