Recommended outdoor family activities include trampolining, flying foxes, rope courses, bushwalks, beach walks, fishing, boating, horse-riding and so much more.
For a truly unique experience, pile the family into a helicopter to fly above the Twelve Apostles and the Shipwreck Coast. Or for a different (and more budget friendly) experience, with an elevated view, take the little ones to bounce high above their height on trampolines in both Lorne and Anglesea.
While the Great Ocean Road is popular for its outdoor activities, there are also heaps of things to see and do indoors. These include the Flagstaff Hill Maritime Museum and Village – where kids can immerse themselves in a life completely different to contemporary times. And at our abundance of farm-stores and chocolatiers all of the family can learn about how food is produced (and eat it!). In towns like Warrnambool and Eagles Nest there are also galleries and libraries.
To help you plan your family trip our local experts have prepared an entire itinerary, a 72-hour family weekend away in Victoria and produced a comprehensive guide of things to see and do with kids in the winter months.
