Beach Camping Victoria

Victoria’s Best Beach Camping

The Great Ocean Road’s campsites offer a range of services including beach camping in Victoria. With over a dozen campsite options across the entire coastline you’re bound to find beach camping (Great Ocean Road) options to suit your needs. There are isolated sites, sites in proximity to shops and cafes, sites with boat ramps, and more.

If you want beach camping (Vic), you have two options:

  • Stay inland in Torquay, or
  • Go for coastal camping in Victoria at Johanna.

While Torquay is the closest township to Bells Beach, the surf beach at Johanna is a stretch of beach breaks (or beach and reef) noted for its power and reputation for rapid jumps in size. At times the Bells Beach Surf Classic competition has been moved from Bells Beach to Johanna (as the westerly facing Johanna Beach picks up swell that misses Bells and the Surf Coast). For this reason, Johanna is a great place for coastal camping (Victoria).
