About

Elvis, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, Roy Orbison, Howlin’ Wolf, BB King… all had one thing in common – they launched their careers at The Sun Recording Company.

This critically acclaimed show celebrates the music and stories of the early years of Sun Records. You’re promised an unforgettable night as Sun Rising brilliantly interpret the timeless songs and legendary performances captured by Sam Phillips at his Sun Records recording studio in 1950s Memphis. No fake accents or silly wigs – just sublime musicianship and an impeccable tribute to the greatest rock ’n’ roll performers of all time.

Fully endorsed by the family of Sam Phillips, this show has been selling out – including in Portland back in early 2020. This year they’ll be bringing the show to the Portland Civic Hall so even more people can enjoy tapping their toes – or even cutting a rug on the dancefloor!
