With stunning landscapes and a large rural base, there are gems aplenty that make their way into heritage shopfronts and large rural sheds just waiting for you to browse and find. Vintage fashion gems racked by size and theme. Centre pieces to set off a room or home or a collectable gem to share down family lines.
Travel between townships to view dry stone walls across fields and volcanic lakes and peaks that resonate with the cultural stories of the peoples of the Eastern Maar and Wadawarrung. Peoples that have lived through active volcanics and the shaping of the southern coastal landscapes that attract visitors from around the world.

Like we said we don’t like to throw things out and with a relatively small population, things don’t get snapped up fast. You never know what you will find on the racks and shelves of our charming little towns.

Stores with well-presented gems on racks and shelves courtesy of the volunteer gems in the back rooms and at the counter raising money for their local charities and communities. Rehome, recycle and generate funds for those in need. Now what’s not to love about that.

Businesses that will help you find the joy making things better, last longer and lessening your impact on resources. Imagine a weekend away where you go home with a masterpiece! While you’ll find plenty of these things within our Op Shops, there are those businesses that are more specialised in non-clothing items, Garagenalia, vases, kettles and retro gems made back in a time when things were timeless and made to last.
There are a host of young entrepreneurs and local salts of the earth behind the counters and behind the scenes building on the visitor appeal, profitability and sustainability of the vintage and circular economy and we hope you can make it down to support their efforts and of course take a few treasures home with you as well.
