Camping  in the Otways is truly a magical experience. With such beautiful nature  surrounding you and unique adventures to go on, the Otways are a great  spot to pitch a tent and escape the hustle and bustle of daily life.

Great Otway National Park

Great Otway National Park

Camping is permitted in designated areas of the Great Otway National Park. The areas are:

LAKE ELIZABETH: Via Forrest, follow signs. No dogs allowed. Facilities: toilets and picnic tables.

BLANKET BAY: Near Cape Otway, via Lighthouse Road and Blanket Bay Road. Campsites are on the edge of a safe swimming beach. Bookings essential in school holidays. Facilities: pit toilets, communal fireplaces. Limited tank water.

AIRE RIVER EAST: Via Hordern Vale Road. Campsites are near the mouth of the Aire River. Bring your own water. Facilities: pit toilets and fireplaces

AIRE RIVER WEST: Via Sand Road. Campsites are near the mouth of the Aire River. There are no fireplaces, gas barbecues only. Bring your own water. Facilities: pit toilets

JOHANNA BEACH: Via Red Johanna Road. Popular surf beach with campsites behind sand dunes. No fires, gas barbecues only. Suitable for caravans. Facilities: pit toilets.

GREAT OCEAN WALK CAMP SITES: Great ocean walk campsites are highlighted in the Great Ocean Walk map which is available from Colac & Apollo Bay Visitor Centres.

NOTE: These camping areas have minimal facilities. You must take your own drinking water and wood for fireplaces. Ensure rubbish is taken home. Dogs are not permitted in the Great Otway National Park, except at Johanna (must be on a lead at all times). Fees apply.

Otway Forest Park

Otway Forest Park

Camping within the Otway Forest Park is allowed at:

DANDOS: Via Lardner Track, near Gellibrand River. Bring your own firewood. Facilities: toilets, picnic tables and fireplaces.

NOTE: The camping areas have minimal facilities. Bring your own drinking water and wood for fireplaces. Take your rubbish home. Dogs are permitted in the State Forest, but must be on a leash at all times. No fees apply.

Otway Reserves

Otway Reserves

AIRE VALLEY AND BEAUCHAMP FALLS: Off Aire Valley Road, via Beech Forest or Turtons Track. Facilities: pit toilets, fireplaces, picnic tables.

STEVENSON FALLS: Off Forrest-Apollo Bay Road, west of Barramunga. Large camping area, great for groups. Facilities: self-composting toilet with disabled access, picnic tables, fireplaces.

NOTE: The Otway Reserves camping areas have minimal facilities. Bring your own drinking water and wood for fireplaces. Take your rubbish home. Dogs are permitted, but they must be on a leash at all times. No fees apply.
