DAY 1: Melbourne to Lorne

A tasty start to the trip

Lunch: Totti’s Lorne – With a menu made for sharing, this beachside restaurant is all about enjoying simple, delicious food with your favourite people.

Afternoon: Spend the afternoon exploring Lorne. Suggested stops include Erskine Falls, Teddy’s Lookout and the Lorne Pier. Tip – Gelato Gelato provides the perfect mid-afternoon snack.

Dinner: Raas Leela – authentic Indian cuisine with unique, contemporary twist. Journey through India’s iconic street food, with each dish reimagined – expect authentic flavours with surprising and visually pleasing presentation. Try their great cocktails!

DAY 2: Lorne, Lavers Hill & Apollo Bay

Another day another flavour

Breakfast: Lorne Central
Just across from Lorne’s main surf beach, relax at outdoor or indoor tables. Stroll up from the sand for a breaky of spinach and poached eggs on sourdough, lemon thyme feta, avocado and lemon dukkah.

Drive along the Great Ocean Road to Lavers Hill. Take your time to enjoy the spectacular views on one of the world’s most iconic road trips.

Lunch: The Perch, Lavers Hill
In the heart of the Otway’s, break your journey and enjoy the best of local paddock to plate delights including the best hot chips in the region!

Apollo Bay delights

Afternoon: Head back to Apollo Bay and explore the beach and Harbour, or head to Marriners Lookout , then on to the Apollo Bay Distillery for a Gin paddle/tasting

Dinner: Graze Apollo Bay. Delicious hand-crafted cuisine – made from regionally sourced ingredients, including local seafood from the Apollo Bay Fishermen’s Co-op. (with great Cocktails!)

DAY 3: Apollo Bay to Port Campbell

Morning

Breakfast: Start your morning with breakfast at the Apollo Bay Bakery, famous for their Scallop Pies

Morning: After leaving Apollo Bay, head to Maits Rest (20 mins) in the Otway’s and take the self-guided rainforest boardwalk to see the beautiful fern gardens and giant rainforest trees up to 300 years old (30mins return walk)

Lunch: Continue travelling to Lower Gellibrand (1hour 15mins) and enjoy an early lunch at Clean Cravings Eatery.

Travel to the 12 Apostles, just down the road, and take an unforgettable scenic flight with 12 Apostles Helicopters .

Afternoon

Spend some time in the Port Campbell township, exploring the foreshore, beach and jetty. Take the Port Campbell Discovery Walk for pretty coastal and township views, or hire a bike (Ride With Us have a depot in Port Campbell at Sow and Piglets) and take on a section of the trail linking Port Campbell to Timboon.

Pre-Dinner: Sow and Piglets Brewery Port Campbell (beer paddle)

Dinner: Peterborough General Store & Takeaway Located in Peterborough, this takeaway venue offers coffee, sandwiches, fish and chips, pizza, cold drinks and ice cream and is a great place to stop on your way to the Bay of Islands to watch the sunset.

DAY 4: Port Campbell and Timboon

Snack, Supper and Retire for the Night

You must visit Timboon, the heart of the 12 Apostles Food Artisan Trail. 

Timboon Fine Ice Cream, located in the town is a must-do, and if you’re pressed for time to do the whole trail, you can visit several of the producers in the heart of Timboon, including the Babche Wines Cellar door, Timboon Railway Shed Distillery and Berry World (with PYO strawberries in season).

As you head for home, make sure you stop on the way at Dairylicious Farm Fudge for a coffee and to pick up some delicious fudge for a driving snack.
